Emily Madsen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Alaska. Her research focuses on the intersection of 19th-century British literature and religion through material culture, with a particular emphasis on works by Dickens and Arctic travel narratives. She holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a BA from Bryn Mawr College.
