Emily Lake Hansen (she/her) is a Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech. She holds a Ph.D. in English/Creative Writing from Georgia State University, an M.F.A. in Poetry from Georgia College & State University, and a B.A. in English Literature and French from Agnes Scott College. Her creative work explores themes of home, identity, and trauma through poetry and essays, with publications in Hayden's Ferry Review, Pleiades, and others. Her scholarly interests include disability studies, fat studies, and inclusive pedagogy. She serves on the Board of Directors at Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School and has over a decade of teaching experience in first-year composition and creative writing.

Teaching & Service: Emily has taught at multiple Georgia institutions and worked as a private learning specialist for students with disabilities. She currently advises on inclusive curriculum development at Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School.
