Pearson’s research and creative work focus on surrealism, trauma studies, and epistolary literature. His poetry interrogates themes of family abuse, queer identity, performative masculinity, and the interplay between confession and artifice. His books, including A Season in Hell with Rimbaud (2022), A Family Is a House (2019), and Millennial Roost (2018), employ allegory and speculative forms to explore personal and collective memory.
His recent articles and publications examine surrealism, trauma narratives, and the metaphysical dimensions of poetry. Pearson’s work has been recognized in outlets like The Nation, Poetry Daily, and Blackbird, with a film adaptation of his poem winning the Cadence Video Poetry Festival (2020).
