Emily Jungmin Yoon is an Assistant Professor of East Asian Languages & Literatures at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her work bridges Korean and Korean American literary studies with gender, feminism, and transnational literature. She holds a PhD and MA in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago, an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in English and Communication.

Publications span The New Yorker, Poetry, and The Paris Review, exploring themes like diasporic identity, environmental ethics, and posthumanism. Her writing often merges personal narrative with political critique.
