Emily Howard is a Lecturer in Residence of Biology at Lubbock Christian University (LCU), where she teaches in the Natural Sciences Department. She currently pursues a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at George Mason University while maintaining active research collaborations in these fields. Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, she holds a B.A. in Biology from LCU and an M.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science (Medical Microbiology concentration) from the University of Florida.
Her professional background includes teaching Science in the Seminole Independent School District (SISD), where she also served as Science Department Head, fostering STEM pedagogy. At LCU, she has contributed to committees and campus organizations, alongside collaborating with local schools to enhance science education. Emily resides in Seminole, TX, with her husband (Texas State Game Warden Garrison Howard) and their two sons.
Her honors include the 2023 LCU Associate’s Grant Award and SJHS Teacher of the Year (2020). She balances academia with community engagement, actively participating in research and educational initiatives.
