Emily Hervey

Dr. Emily Hervey is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher specializing in global mental health, trauma, and cross-cultural adjustment. As director of the Global Mental Health and Healing research lab, she focuses on trauma response training and spiritual integration in recovery. Her work spans 15+ countries, including Nigeria, Kurdistan, Chile, Jordan, Spain, Kenya, and Burundi.

• Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology, Regent University (APA-accredited)
• B.A. in Psychology with minor in Studio Art, Whitman College

Her research bridges trauma psychology with spiritual growth, particularly in underserved communities. She developed the Tree of Life: Finding Healing and Growth in Jesus, a trauma recovery model now expanded into Bible studies and workshops. Her program has been implemented in over 10 countries, including conflict zones in Kurdistan and Nigeria.

Her recent publications focus on spiritually integrated trauma interventions in Nigeria and cross-cultural mental health. She has conducted over 20 global workshops on trauma response, psychological first aid, and self-care since 2007.
