Emily Blodget

Emily Blodget, MD is a Part Time Lecturer in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California. Her clinical and research work focuses on infectious disease dynamics in transplant recipients and HIV patients.

Education:

• Master’s in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University
• Medical Degree from University College Cork, Ireland
• Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at LAC+USC Medical Center

Research Interests:

• Incidence and outcomes of vancomycin-resistant enterococcus (VRE) infections in cirrhosis patients awaiting liver transplants
• Transplant infection epidemiology, including SARS-CoV-2 and fungal pathogens
• Microbial translocation mechanisms in HIV patients
• Antibiotic resistance patterns in transplant populations
• Vector-borne illness diagnostics in urban settings
