Dr. Adams' research focuses on the microbiology and epidemiology of pediatric infections, particularly antimicrobial-resistant pathogens like Clostridioides difficile (CDI), Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus (VRE), Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), and Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) organisms. His work includes clinical investigations into orbital cellulitis, ventriculoperitoneal shunt infections, endocarditis, and tropical medicine applications in military and global health contexts.
His recent publications (2016-2025) reveal a consistent focus on infectious disease epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance in pediatric populations, and clinical outcomes in military healthcare systems. Key trends include analyses of healthcare-associated infections, risk factors for community-acquired infections, and innovative antimicrobial therapies for rare pathogens.
