Emilio Dabed is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law and Palestine Law Fellow at Columbia University Law School's Center for Palestine Studies (2015-2016). Previously, he directed the International Law and Human Rights Program at Al-Quds/Bard College, Jerusalem (2014-2015), and taught there from 2011 to 2015. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Sciences from Institut de Sciences Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence and IREMAM-CNRS (France), focusing on Palestine's constitutional process.
His research examines intersections between legal processes/discursive practices and political/social changes, identity formation, and the role of juridical phenomena in sociological/anthropological contexts. Central themes include law's disciplinary powers and human rights discourse in contemporary Palestine.
