Emilien PEYTAVIT is a Senior Research Fellow (HDR) and leader of the THz Photonics group at the IEMN Laboratory (CNRS UMR 8520) within the University of Lille, France. His research focuses on THz electronics and optoelectronics, including photomixer technology, ultrafast photodetectors, and integrated photonic systems. He holds a PhD in Electronics from the University of Lille (2002) and an engineering degree from École Centrale de Lille (1999). Prior to his current role, he conducted postdoctoral research at CEA-LETI and IEMN.
Key research areas include THz radiation generation/detection, high-speed photodetectors, and THz waveguide/antenna design. He has authored/co-authored over 200 publications and holds 3 patents. His work bridges fundamental device physics with applications in high-frequency sensing and communication systems.
Emilien leads a multidisciplinary team within the IEMN’s photonics division, collaborating with international partners on cutting-edge THz technologies. Current projects emphasize real-time THz detection systems and novel photonic integration techniques.
