Emilie Van Haute serves as Associate Professor and Department Chair at the Institute of Political and Social Sciences, Free University of Brussels (ULB), while maintaining active research affiliation with Cevipol (Centre for the Study of Political Life).
Her research program examines core dimensions of party politics including membership structures, internal factional conflicts, electoral systems, and voter decision-making processes. Current projects encompass leadership of the MAPP working group on party membership dynamics, participation in the RepResent initiative analyzing representative claims, and contributions to the Party Position Data Base (PPDB) comparative project.
As co-editor of the peer-reviewed journal Acta Politica, she shapes scholarly discourse in political science while advancing empirical research on democratic representation through Cevipol's collaborative framework, with particular emphasis on cross-national analyses of party system evolution and voter behavior.
