Emil Temnyalov is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Economics Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS Business School). He holds a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and has been at UTS since 2015. His research focuses on microeconomic theory, industrial organization, and public policy, with a particular emphasis on mechanism design, information economics, and contests. He explores policy-relevant topics such as differential treatment in public policy, R&D incentives in innovation systems, and antitrust regulation.

Recent publications address liability insurance contracts, pay-for-delay strategies in pharmaceutical markets, and contest theory dynamics. He emphasizes policy applications with significant social welfare implications, such as inequality reduction and optimal rationing mechanisms.
