Miguel Fonseca

Miguel Fonseca is Professor of Economics at the University of Exeter Business School. He joined in 2007 after postdoctoral research at Columbia University. His research uses experimental and field methods to study micro-economic behavior in organizational contexts, cooperation dynamics, communication strategies, and labor markets. Funded by ESRC, British Academy and Nuffield Foundation, his work bridges economics with psychology and organizational behavior.

Fonseca holds Portuguese and British nationality, with qualifications including BSc, MSc and PhD from Royal Holloway, University of London. Recent publications examine pay inequality effects on leadership, social norm enforcement mechanisms, gender bias in evaluations, antitrust policy impacts, and behavioral responses to income shocks.
