Emil Eidin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming and a Postdoctoral Research Associate Fellow at Michigan State University's CREATE for STEM Institute. He holds a PhD in Science Teaching (2018) from the Weizmann Institute of Science, an M.A. in Science Teaching (2012), and a B.S. in Biology (2007) from Bar-Ilan University. His research focuses on integrating systems thinking, computational modeling, and socio-scientific issues (SSI) into STEM education.
Dr. Eidin specializes in developing NGSS-aligned curricula and professional development programs for science teachers. His work emphasizes student engagement with dynamic models to explain scientific phenomena and fostering argumentation skills through SSI discussions. He has contributed to national initiatives like the 'Engage' project, promoting responsible research and innovation in science education.
His publications explore computational thinking progression, teacher implementation barriers for SSI pedagogy, and the impact of modeling tools like SageModeler. He has presented at leading conferences such as NARST and the International Conference of the Learning Sciences.
