Elske Salemink is a Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Utrecht University, specializing in Clinical Psychology. Her research bridges fundamental experimental studies with applied clinical trials to advance understanding of anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorders in (emerging) adults.
Research Focus: Salemink investigates cognitive and emotional mechanisms such as interpretation biases, attentional biases, and memory biases in psychopathology. She integrates youth development and game-based interventions into her work through the Dynamics of Youth (DoY) initiative and collaborates with mental health institutes like Altrecht Academic Anxiety Center.
- Grants: Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) VENI (2010), VIDI (2019), and ASPASIA grants; Netherlands Organization for Health Research and Development (ZONMW) grants (2011, 2023).
