Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguisticsمعرفی
Else Eising is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Language and Genetics Department of the Max Planck Institute, focusing on the genetics of speech and language-related traits and disorders, particularly stuttering. She received her MSc in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Groningen (2010) and her PhD in Human Genetics from Leiden University Medical Center (2017). In 2020, she was awarded a Veni grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to investigate stuttering genetics.
- Education:
- MSc in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience, University of Groningen (2010)
- PhD in Human Genetics, Leiden University Medical Center (2017)
Her research explores genetic factors underlying stuttering, including identifying rare and common variants associated with speech disorders and language traits. Key projects include studying biological processes involved in stuttering persistence and genetic links between language and musical rhythm.
Publications highlight collaborations in genomics, neuroimaging, and clinical studies, emphasizing genetic architecture of speech disorders and evolutionary insights. Her work bridges basic research and public engagement through outreach activities like lectures, podcasts, and media interviews.
- Awards:
- Veni grant from NWO (2020)
Grants include the NWO Veni for stuttering research. She collaborates on projects like the GenLang consortium and contributes to labs investigating speech prosody perception and brain morphology.
