Elsa Boulet is a Sociology researcher (postdoctoral fellow) at CENS - UMR 6025, Nantes University, specifically affiliated with UFR STAPS (Faculty of Sports Science). She additionally serves as an associate researcher at the Nantes Centre for Sociology and a researcher at DySoLab, University of Rouen Normandy. Her academic foundation includes a PhD in Sociology completed in 2020 at Université Lumière Lyon 2 with research supervised by Christine Détrez (ENS de Lyon) and Marc Bessin (EHESS).
Dr. Boulet's research examines gender sociology, health and medicine sociology, social inequalities, and work sociology through the lens of pregnancy, childbirth, and care work. Her doctoral work reconceptualized pregnancy as a social activity shaped by norms rather than merely a biological process. Subsequent research has explored doctors' work in nursing homes, work-family balance in care sectors, and currently investigates adapted physical activity in addiction care pathways. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, health studies, and sports science to examine how social structures shape individual experiences.
