Jean-Julien NIZARD

Jean-Julien NIZARD is a Professor of Therapeutics and Hospital Practitioner at Nantes Université's Faculty of Medicine. He serves as Vice-Dean for Continuing Education and Head of the Interdisciplinary Pain, Supportive Care, and Clinical Ethics Department at Nantes University Hospital. His roles include teaching coordination for numerous diplomas in pain management, palliative care, and complementary therapies.

He holds an MD and PhD in Neuroscience from Nantes Université and is Habilitated to Lead Research. His research focuses on chronic pain disability evaluation, neuromodulation therapies (e.g., image-guided transcranial magnetic stimulation), and the efficacy/safety of non-pharmacological interventions. He leads the Unité de Recherche Clinique (UIC22) on Pain and Palliative Care.

He oversees academic programs including the Master's in Ethics (Health Track), 5th-year Medicine curriculum, and specialized diplomas in acupuncture, osteopathic medicine, and therapeutic hypnosis. He coordinates regional pain treatment certifications and palliative care training programs.
