Elodie Charrière is a researcher at the University of Geneva, currently affiliated with the Institute of Environmental Governance and Territorial Development. She previously served as a doctoral assistant at the Institute of Environmental Sciences (ISE) and earned her doctorate in Social Sciences from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Geneva in 2019.

Her research focuses on environmental history, particularly the intersection of military waste management and ecological risk. A central theme is the historical and legislative analysis of munition dumping in Swiss lakes post-WWII, extending to the Great Lakes region of North America. She explores how secrecy, public policies, media, and waste management practices shape environmental uncertainty.
Elodie's publications include peer-reviewed articles in Water History, Socioscapes, and Éthique publique, addressing topics like health impact assessments, ecological controversies, and military waste legacies. Her work has been funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
