Marie Poulain is a doctoral student and teaching assistant in the Department of Geography & Environment at the University of Geneva since September 2022. She holds a double Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from Université Lumière Lyon 2, a Master's degree specializing in the Middle East from Sciences Po Grenoble, and a second Master's degree in Geography & Mountain Planning from Université Savoie Mont Blanc.
Research Interests
Her research focuses on border, mountain, and marginal spaces in the Middle East, integrating insights from tourism and recreational practices. She explores intersections of political geography, cultural geography, security, and protected areas through the lens of cross-border mobility and mountain environments.
