Ellen Wetmore is a Professor of Art at University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she works in the Art & Design Department within the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Her practice spans video art, computer art, interactive art, artbotics, sculpture, and photography.
- MFA & BA from Tufts University (2000) and School of the Museum of Fine Arts (2012 Traveling Fellow)
- BFA & BA in Art History, Figurative Sculpture, French, Jewelry from University of Michigan Ann Arbor (1994)
Her research explores intersections of technology and art through artbotics and BioArt, with notable projects like Breathe: Localized 8-channel audio composition. She creates immersive installations for urban spaces like Boston Convention Center's 80-foot 7-screen marquee.
Recent projects include Dante: A Divine Comedy (2023), a graphic novel addressing institutional racism in academia. Her work has been exhibited at Armory Center for the Arts, Sarah Doyle Gallery (Brown University), and Living Arts of Tulsa.
