Ellen Shupe is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). She holds a B.S. from Eckard College and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
Her research spans applied social and organizational psychology, focusing on workplace stressors such as sexual harassment, inter-role conflict, and job loss. She also explores pedagogical approaches, particularly in study abroad courses.
Her publications (2007–2019) emphasize mixed-methods analyses of stress dynamics in academic librarians, young working women, and recession impacts. Awards include the 2016 Pew Teaching Excellence Award.
