Ellen Ross is the Howard M. and Charles F. Jenkins Professor of Quakerism and Peace Studies at Swarthmore College, affiliated with Medieval Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, and Religion. She specializes in Christian traditions with research interests spanning Quaker Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, medieval religious life/thought, and contemporary religious thought.
Her education includes a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Her current research focuses on Quaker Studies and Peace/Conflict Studies, with recent publications examining historical Quaker-Native American relations, ethical values in religious contexts, and transformative power of love in peace activism.
