Robert Eisen is a Professor of Religion and Judaic Studies, and Director of the Judaic Studies Program at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. His research focuses on peace/violence in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, comparative religion, Jewish philosophy, biblical interpretation, and Jewish ethics. He has authored seven books, including seminal works on medieval Jewish thought, religious violence, and Jewish law. Dr. Eisen holds a Fulbright Research Grant (1999-2000) and the Bender Teaching Award (2005).
His expertise spans the history of Jewish thought, interfaith dialogue, and the moral dimensions of religious conflict. He actively contributes to adult education initiatives and consults on global religious relations. Current projects include an introductory textbook on Judaism for college students (University of Toronto Press, forthcoming).
Dr. Eisen is also a musician specializing in folk-rock, pop, and country music, with works available on Spotify and YouTube.
