Ellen Furman

Dr. Ellen Furman is a faculty member and administrator at American International College (AIC), with a focus on nursing education. She began her tenure at AIC in 2012 as an undergraduate faculty member, became Associate Director of Graduate Nursing in 2013, and served as interim Director of Nursing in 2018. She holds a graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Dr. Furman specializes in gerontological nursing, with research interests centered on the anorexia of aging. Her clinical practice spans the continuum of care, and she is a board-certified gerontological clinical nurse specialist. She emphasizes evidence-based practice and quality improvement in nursing care.

Her teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses in Pharmacology and Nursing Research, as well as graduate-level courses in Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, Advanced Health Assessment, Professional Writing in Nursing, and leadership topics.
