Ellen Flaherty, PhD, ARNP, is an Associate Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, with appointments in the Department of Medicine, Department of Community and Family Medicine, and The Dartmouth Institute. She serves as Vice President of the Dartmouth Health Geriatric Center of Excellence and practices as an Advanced Practice Nurse in General Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Research and Professional Focus: Dr. Flaherty specializes in geriatric care innovation, including the Geriatric Interprofessional Team Transformation in Primary Care (GITT-PC) model and Age-Friendly Health Systems framework. Her work emphasizes interprofessional collaboration, rural aging, and community care delivery.
Grant Leadership: She serves as Principal Investigator for the HRSA Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (2019-2024) and the ACL/NCOA Falls Prevention Grant (2021-2023). Additional leadership roles include Co-Principal Investigator for the West Health Foundation Geriatric Emergency Department Rural Hub & Spoke grant and the AGS National GWEP Coordinating Center.
Scientific Recognition: Dr. Flaherty received the AGS Henderson Award in 2020 and previously held leadership roles as President of the American Geriatrics Society.
