Eljas Oksanen is a Postdoc Research Fellow at the University of Reading, focusing on the Medieval Ritual Landscape: Archaeology & Lived Religion project. He holds a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge (2007) and was awarded the title of Adjunct Professor in Archaeology by the University of Helsinki in 2024.
Oksanen's research integrates history, archaeology, Digital Humanities, and Citizen Science to explore data-driven approaches to historical and archaeological materials. His recent work examines how digitized cultural heritage is disseminated and consumed in contemporary society, emphasizing collaborative methodologies and intersectoral partnerships.
