Prof. Elizeus Rutebemberwa serves as a Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Planning and Management at Makerere University School of Public Health. He holds an MBChB and MPH from Makerere University and a PhD jointly awarded by Karolinska Institutet and Makerere University, with prior experience as Hospital Director and District Health Manager in Kamuli District, Eastern Uganda.
His educational background includes:

Prof. Rutebemberwa's research centers on health systems implementation challenges, with specific expertise in non-communicable diseases risk factor surveillance, access to care for febrile children, zoonotic disease-health systems interfaces, and ethical policy frameworks. His work integrates Monitoring and Evaluation methodologies to address public health management gaps in resource-limited settings.
He actively contributes to academic training as field coordinator for the Masters of Public Health program and visiting lecturer for Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training initiatives in Kenya and Nigeria, strengthening regional public health capacity.
