Elizabeth Shun-Ching Parks holds the role of Affiliate Associate in the Department of Journalism & Media Communication. She is an engaged scholar with over 20 years of experience in academia and non-profits, focusing on communication, collaboration, ethics, and cultural diversity in professional and community contexts. Dr. Parks is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Listening.
Her education includes a PhD from the University of Washington. Research interests include relational interactions, workplace well-being, and strategies for fostering dialogue across differences. She has authored 50+ peer-reviewed articles and two books: Listening: The Key Concepts (2025) and The Ethics of Listening: Creating Space for Sustainable Dialogue (2018).
Her career includes roles as faculty, administrator, and consultant in higher education and non-profits, including Fulbright Specialist work. Her scholarship emphasizes creating inclusive spaces for dialogue through ethical listening practices.
