Elizabeth Sergile

Elizabeth Sergile is currently the Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer at the School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU), part of The City University of New York (CUNY). She also teaches the undergraduate course Statistics for Social Change at SLU. Her academic career spans both administrative leadership and direct teaching, reflecting a commitment to higher education and labor dynamics.

Her research focuses on the complex relationship between higher education and labor, with an emphasis on institutional effectiveness, assessment, data collection, and reporting. She is actively pursuing a doctorate in the Urban Education program at CUNY’s Graduate Center, further grounding her work in critical urban educational contexts.

At SLU, she oversees the Office of Academic Affairs’ day-to-day operations and coordinates grants administration and human research protection protocols. Her professional expertise includes strategic planning, accreditation, and operational budgeting, all of which contribute to her multifaceted role in academia.
