Elizabeth Remick is a Professor of Political Science at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in Comparative Politics with a regional focus on East Asia, particularly China, and examines issues such as family policy, gender, and work politics. Her research includes studies on paid family leave laws in US states and historical analyses of Chinese statebuilding processes.
Education: B.A. in Political Science/Chinese (Wellesley College, 1987); M.A. and Ph.D. in Government (Cornell University, 1991/1996). Professional experience includes teaching at the University of Oregon and English instruction in Hunan, China.
Research Interests:
- Prostitution regulation and local governance in modern China
- Gender equity in social policy
- Comparative family policy frameworks
- Historical political economy of Chinese state development
