Elizabeth R. Tomlinson

Elizabeth R. Tomlinson, PhD, BSN, is an Assistant Professor at the UNC-Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Health Policy and Management. She also serves as a consulting instructor at Duke University School of Nursing since 2015 and previously held a faculty position at NC Central University's Department of Nursing. Her work focuses on health equity, systems thinking, and community-engaged research methodologies.

• Education: PhD in Nursing (Duke University, 2018), BSN in Nursing with highest honors (UNC-Chapel Hill, 2011)

Her research addresses improving healthcare for violence survivors through trauma-informed practices, qualitative methods, and participatory approaches. Key publications span topics from global family violence to photovoice techniques for understanding survivor experiences.

She actively contributes to healthcare quality improvement and health disparities reduction through program evaluation and policy analysis roles, including consulting for North Carolina Medicaid. Awards include membership in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and her election as Treasurer of the Nursing Network on Violence Against Women International.
