Elizabeth Paris is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and has served as Industry Advisor for Investment Banking and Finance since 2002. She focuses on women’s entrepreneurship, closing the global credit gap, and financial inclusion. Her roles include advising the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on gender-sensitive banking programs and leading initiatives like the Goldman Sachs Foundation’s 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses in the UK and China. She holds a MA in Modern History from Oxford and has co-authored influential case studies on women-led banking strategies in emerging markets.
Elizabeth’s career spans 19 years in corporate finance at institutions like J.P. Morgan, where she led Tax Effective Finance. She has held leadership roles at global organizations, including co-founding Inspring Women and teaching women entrepreneurs in Africa. She is also a Distinguished Professor at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and a Visiting Researcher at Zhejiang University. Elizabeth has been recognized as a Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire and chairs organizations like The Oxford Playhouse.
Her research emphasizes gender equity in finance, cross-border entrepreneurship, and inclusive financial systems. Beyond academia, she advocates for systemic changes to support women entrepreneurs globally.
