Elizabeth Lightfoot is Director and Professor of Social Policy at Arizona State University's Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions School of Social Work. Her research focuses on disability policy, child welfare, aging, and immigrant/refugee health. She has directed doctoral programs, developed international MSW tracks, and led projects in Namibia and Romania. Awards include the American Academy of Social Work's Educational Leadership Award and international recognition for her work in social work education and disability advocacy.
Education: PhD in Public Policy (Indiana University), MSW in Social Work (University of Minnesota), B.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies (Santa Clara University).
Research emphasizes intersections of disability with child welfare, aging, and disparities. Key projects include community-based participatory research with East African immigrants and policy guides for parents with disabilities.
