Elizabeth Lange is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at SUNY Oswego. She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Science from Florida State University, an M.S. from Clemson University, and a B.S. from Canisius College. Her research integrates field, laboratory, and theoretical approaches to examine how social environments influence behavioral adaptations, morphological development, and life history strategies in animal populations.
Research focuses on:
- Behavioral ecology of information use in social contexts
- Evolutionary consequences of phenotypic plasticity
- Quantitative genetic analysis of behavioral traits
- Fish biology and reproductive strategies
- Social determinants of survival and fitness
Her publication record shows consistent focus on primate social behavior (baboons) and fish reproductive strategies, with methodological emphasis on longitudinal field studies, survival analysis, and causal modeling. Recent work increasingly incorporates genetic determinants of social behavior.
