Dr. Elizabeth Lane is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Florida School of Professional Psychology, National Louis University. She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Psychology from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, with a focus on clinical research in cognitive aging and neuropsychological assessment. Her postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center further developed her expertise in clinical research methodologies combining neuropsychological assessment and neuroimaging to study biological mechanisms of cognitive aging.
Her research investigates how heart health factors like insulin resistance and diabetes influence cognitive aging, aiming to identify intervention points for dementia prevention. She actively contributes to academic discourse through publications and presentations at conferences. Dr. Lane is also affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Association as a community educator in the Tampa Bay area.
Her teaching and mentoring practices are informed by her research, emphasizing practical application of neuropsychological principles. Outside academia, she enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and time with her labradoodle, Moonshadow.
