Elizabeth Imber is an Assistant Professor of History and the Michael and Lisa Leffell Chair in Modern Jewish History at Clark University. She specializes in the intersection of Jewish history and British imperial history, focusing on Zionism, Mandate Palestine, and the political implications of imperialism. Her work analyzes how Jewish elites navigated imperial and nationalist dynamics in the 20th century.

Her book Uncertain Empire (2025) examines Jewish political strategies within the British Empire, while her articles address topics like Baghdadi Jewish elites in India and interwar Zionist thought. She integrates gender and nationalism into her analysis of imperial decline and anticolonial movements.
Publications & Awards: Recent works include articles in Israel Journal of the Study of Zionism and Jewish Social Studies. She has received grants from the American Academy of Jewish Research and co-edited Jewish Women in Global Perspective.
