Elizabeth Hidson is a Senior Lecturer and SCITT PgCert Programme Leader in International Initial Teacher Training at the University of Sunderland, with a focus on research-informed practitioner development. She holds a doctorate from Durham University and has extensive experience in secondary education leadership, including roles as Deputy Headteacher and SSAT Lead Practitioner. As a Research and Knowledge Exchange Fellow (2023–2025), she collaborates with schools to co-create evidence-based solutions for teaching challenges. Her work emphasizes video-enhanced dialogic assessment (VEDA), reflective practice (SunRAE project), and international educational technology research. She leads modules in professional learning and teacher education, and her research explores multilingual education, digital pedagogies, and teacher professional development. Awards include the BERA Best Practitioner Research Award (2023) and Vice-Chancellor’s Fellowships (2020–2022).
