معرفی
Elizabeth Finding is a Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), where she teaches undergraduate veterinary and biological sciences students. Her research focuses on comparative endothelial biology, particularly equine endothelial cell function, with applications to laminitis, angiogenesis, and cardiovascular health. She holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
- Graduated from RVC (2005)
- Masters in Veterinary Medicine (MVetMed)
- PhD in equine endothelial dysfunction and laminitis
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)
Liz's research bridges veterinary and human biomedical science, emphasizing the role of endothelial cells in clotting, blood vessel formation, and disease mechanisms. She has pioneered studies on equine-specific endothelial behavior, including seasonal variations in microvesicles and angiogenic responses to growth factors.
Her recent publications highlight trends in equine endothelial biology, angiogenesis regulation, and translational applications of veterinary models. Key themes include endothelial dysfunction in laminitis, microvesicle dynamics, and nitric oxide pathway analysis.
- HBLB Equine Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2018-2022)
- Jim Bee Award for Outstanding Tutor (2017)
- FHEA (2019)
- Grant review panel, Hong Kong Jockey Club Equine Welfare Research Foundation
- Editorial Board member, Veterinary Medicine and Science, Veterinary Regenerative Medicine
Liz teaches cardiovascular and respiratory physiology to BVetMed and BSc students. She collaborates with institutions including University College London (UCL), Queen Mary University of London, and Imperial College London. Her outreach includes public anatomy events and educational initiatives like the "RVC Lates: the Heart of the RVC" exhibition.
