Dr. Elizabeth Cooper is a Research Fellow at the CRUK Cambridge Institute and a member of the CRUK Children's Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence. She holds a PhD from the University of Auckland and specializes in neuroimmunology, focusing on the interplay between the immune system and central nervous system in childhood brain tumour development.

Her research investigates anatomical connections between the CNS borders, skull bone marrow, meningeal layers, and brain/spinal cord to uncover immune trafficking mechanisms. She aims to translate these findings into immunotherapies for paediatric brain tumours by studying how disruptions in immune tolerance contribute to tumourigenesis.
Key article themes include heptamethine cyanine dye conjugates for targeted drug delivery, molecular mechanisms of glioblastoma, and cytotoxicity enhancement in brain and breast cancers. These studies span pharmacology, computational biology, and neuro-oncology.
