معرفی
Elizabeth Boulding is a Professor at the University of Guelph, specializing in evolutionary biology with a focus on ecological genomics and adaptation. She leads the Boulding Lab in the Summerlee Science Complex, investigating how populations adapt to environmental changes, particularly in marine ecosystems. Her work combines field experiments, genomic analysis, and collaborative research with industry partners.
Education:
- B.Sc., British Columbia (1980)
- M.Sc., Alberta (1983)
- Ph.D., Washington (1990)
Research Interests: Dr. Boulding studies the interplay between environmental change and biological adaptation. Key areas include:
- Genetic adaptation of prey species to invasive predators
- Ecological genomics of Atlantic salmon
- Genomic selection for disease resistance in aquaculture
- Heritable traits in cleaner fish for sea lice control
Awards: Recipient of the NSERC Women's Faculty Award (1993).
Grants & Collaborations: Active in NSERC-funded projects, including genomic selection for salmon health and integrated pest management strategies for aquaculture. Collaborates with Norwegian researchers (CIGENE) and industry partners like Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd.
Labs & Teams: Directs the Boulding Lab, hosting international visitors and collaborating on projects at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre and the Bedford Institute of Oceanography.
