معرفی
Adam Brooker is a Research Fellow in the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling. He has been affiliated with the university since 2001, completing an MSc (with Distinction) in Aquaculture in 2001 and a PhD in Aquatic Veterinary Studies in 2008. His research focuses on aquatic animal behavior, particularly in cleaner fish (ballan wrasse and lumpfish) for sustainable sea lice management in salmon farming. He leads projects on cleaner fish behavior and cage management using hydroacoustic telemetry. Brooker holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Southampton (1995).
His work bridges environmental conservation, animal welfare, and sustainable aquaculture. Key projects include improving cleaner fish welfare and delousing efficiency, training lumpfish for delousing behavior, and studying parasite dynamics in aquaculture systems. Brooker collaborates on international initiatives, such as sea lice infection modeling workshops, and emphasizes stakeholder engagement for marine resource management.
Brooker’s research outputs span topics like sea lice epidemiology, cleaner fish acclimation, and economic impacts of aquatic parasites. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary teams addressing global challenges in aquaculture sustainability and animal welfare.
