Dr. Elizabeth Bookwalter is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Belmont Abbey College. She holds a B.A. in English and Theology from Belmont Abbey College and a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Divine Mercy University. Her research focuses on the impacts of early attachment bonds and trauma on psychological functioning, alongside exploring faith-based approaches for treating prolonged grief disorder.
She has presented at the International Summit & Training on Violence, Abuse & Trauma (2015) and provided continuing education on confidentiality ethics (2013–2015). Her clinical work emphasizes collaboration with individuals to foster relational and societal flourishing. Beyond academia, she is active in her parish and serves as a licensed clinical psychologist.
