Elizabeth A. Kiss is an Associate Professor at the Wegmans School of Nursing, St. John Fisher College. Her research focuses on nursing education for patients with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), wound care, and medical device-related pressure ulcers. She leads initiatives to integrate IDD curricula into nursing programs and developed an online infection prevention course for direct support staff during the pandemic.

Research Interests: Dr. Kiss specializes in improving patient care for IDD populations, pediatric skin integrity, surgical oncology nursing, and quality improvement in healthcare. Her work emphasizes evidence-based practices to prevent hospital-acquired infections and pressure ulcers, with contributions to clinical guidelines and algorithm development.

Service & Grants: She chairs committees on nursing curriculum and clinical coordination, and leads quality improvement projects on pain assessment in IDD patients and tracheostomy infection prevention. Her roles include Vice President of Monroe County Health Department and volunteer work with CURE Childhood Cancer.
Key Contributions: Co-founded the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing to bridge gaps in IDD healthcare. Her work has been presented internationally, including in Poland and Ireland, addressing pediatric wound care and developmental disability nursing challenges.
