معرفی
Dr. Elise Turk serves as Executive Director of the YOUth study at Utrecht University's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Department of Psychology, specializing in Experimental and Developmental Psychology research.
Education:
- Psychobiology degree from University of Amsterdam
- PhD in Clinical Neuroscience from UMC Utrecht focusing on fetal/neonatal brain development
Her research examines critical developmental windows through advanced neuroimaging techniques. Turk leads longitudinal investigations using fetal and neonatal MRI within the YOUth Cohort while pioneering EEG methodologies to decode mother-child bonding dynamics. Her translational work bridges perinatal neuroscience with clinical applications at Wilhelmina Children's Hospital, emphasizing how early neural development influences lifelong cognitive trajectories.
Scientific Recognition:
Turk directs the expansive YOUth cohort study infrastructure while mentoring junior researchers in developmental neuroscience methodologies. Her current projects integrate multimodal imaging with behavioral assessments across pregnancy and early childhood, supported by clinical partnerships at Utrecht University Medical Center. The research program maintains active collaborations with neonatology departments to establish normative brain development benchmarks.
As Executive Director, she oversees the YOUth study's operational framework including data collection protocols across multiple developmental stages and coordinates the research team's clinical neuroscience initiatives within the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital ecosystem.
