Elise Anderson is a Professorial Lecturer (Part-time) affiliated with the MA International Affairs program. She works full-time at Freedom House in Washington, D.C., and serves as a nonresident senior fellow at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy. Her research focuses on Uyghur communities in the People's Republic of China and global diaspora contexts, combining academic expertise with advocacy work.
- Education: Dual Ph.D. in Central Eurasian Studies and Ethnomusicology from Indiana University-Bloomington (2019)
- Expertise: Uyghur cultural preservation, human rights in China, and transnational minority issues
She has published in scholarly and public-facing journals, testified before legislative bodies, and engaged in media commentary on the Uyghur crisis.
