Elisabetta Cau is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the CRC 138 'Dynamics of Security' (Subproject C03) at Saarland University, focusing on the intersection of gender, security, and visual culture. Her research explores how domestic spaces and gender roles are framed through art, literature, and historical discourse. She has held roles including Representative of Doctoral Candidates (2018–2021) and Research Associate in the CRC since 2018.
Education includes a Master's in Applied Cultural Studies from Saarland University (2016, thesis: 'Movement, Madness and Evil - The Possessed in Literature, Painting and Film') and a Bachelor's in European Cultural History at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (2013).
