Elisabeth Winter

Elisabeth Winter is a Lecturer in the Department of Music Education at Mozarteum University Salzburg, based in Innsbruck, specializing in horn pedagogy since 2023. She concurrently leads the horn class at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and teaches at Landesmusikschule Kufstein, Woodstock Academy, and International Horn Days Telfs.

Her educational foundation includes:

• Initial horn training from age nine in Kitzbühel
• Instrumental pedagogy studies at Innsbruck University with Prof. Hansjörg Angerer and Prof. Marco Treyer
• Concert music specialization with music physiology focus at University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
• Master's degree in instrumental pedagogy with Prof. Roland Berger and Prof. Thomas Jöbstl (completed with distinction, 2009)

Her professional expertise spans performance physiology and brass pedagogy, informed by 15 years as 2nd horn player with Vienna Volksoper Orchestra (2008-2023) and collaborations with Vienna Philharmonic, NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester, and Tiroler Symphonieorchester.

Her competitive achievements include:

• Gradus ad Parnassum competition finalist (2003)
• Multiple national Prima la Musica competition first prizes

As an educator, she mentors horn students across multiple institutions while performing with brass quintet Brass Soloists, maintaining active engagement in both academic and professional music spheres.
