Elisabeth Anne Stoddard

Elisabeth Anne Stoddard is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the The Global School at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She holds affiliations with the Environmental & Sustainability Studies and International & Global Studies departments. Her work bridges human-environment geography with critical pedagogy, focusing on climate resilience, food systems vulnerability, and social justice in STEM education.

Research Interests: Stoddard examines intersections of nature, society, and justice, particularly in climate resilience design and food system vulnerabilities. Her pedagogical work includes developing tools for equitable team dynamics in project-based learning, supported by grants on bias mitigation in student teams.

Publications: Key works include co-editing Project-Based Learning in the First Year: Beyond All Expectations (2019) and publishing on rooted networks, animal vulnerability in CAFOs, and hog industry biosecurity.

Grants & Collaborations: Co-developed equity-focused team dynamics modules with Geoff Pfeifer, tested through student research teams. Active in the Center for Sustainable Food Systems and Sustainable Career Mentorship Program.
