Elisa Veiga

Elisa Veiga is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Porto. She is affiliated with the Research Center for Human Development (CEDH) and the Católica Research Centre for Psychological, Family and Social Wellbeing (CRC-W). Her research focuses on Mental Health, Health Literacy, Self-Care, Child Protection, and Traumatic Events, with significant contributions to trauma-sensitive care and psychometric tool development.

• PhD in Psychology, University of Porto (2006)

Her recent work includes developing the Trauma Sensitive Care Evaluation Questionnaire (TSCEQ) and studying trauma-informed practices in residential care for children/youth. She leads projects like HEALING (art-therapy education) and Safeguarding Hub, emphasizing multidisciplinary interventions and organizational change.

Scientific awards include a 2006 recognition. She supervises graduate students, co-organizes research workshops, and contributes to deinstitutionalization frameworks in community care. Her collaborations span Portuguese institutions and international networks.
